Graduation With Honors

Graduation with distinction (sometimes referred to as Latin Honors) depends upon the achievement of exceptionally high scholastic averages and completion of all requirements. This distinction is reflected by the awarding of degrees cum laude, magna cum laude, and summa cum laude. All grade point averages are computed on work completed at Rider University only.

For all colleges and schools except Westminster Choir College, graduation with Latin Honors is awarded on the following basis:

Summa cum laude 3.7455 - 4.0000
Magna cum laude 3.4955 - 3.7454
Cum laude 3.2455 - 3.4954

For Westminster Choir College, graduation with Latin Honors is awarded on the following basis:

Summa cum laude 3.8000 - 4.0000
Magna cum laude 3.6000 - 3.7999
Cum laude 3.4000 - 3.5999

Note: Cumulative GPA is calculated to four decimal points for Latin Honors.
